Carnival Launches Travel Agent ‘Book and Win’ Contest for Europe Sailings

Carnival Cruise Lines is offering travel agents a chance to win an unforgettable “Fun Ship” voyage to Europe – simply by booking a Carnival Magic cruise for their clients.

With Carnival’s new “Book and Win” contest, travel agents who book a stateroom on a Carnival Magic Europe cruise for their clients will be automatically entered into a drawing for a 12-day Mediterranean voyage aboard the new 3,690-passenger vessel.

Each booked and deposited stateroom counts as one entry in the drawing, meaning that the more bookings travel agents make, the more chances they have to win. All individual bookings made between now and Nov. 30 will qualify. Bookings must be made electronically.

Europe is more affordable than ever with Carnival’s attractive Early Saver Rates, which offer up to 20 percent savings off regular cruise fares, providing travel agents with a valuable marketing tool for enticing their clients to set sail.

The grand prize winner will receive a 12-day Grand Mediterranean cruise for two on the new Carnival Magic, departing May 10 from Barcelona, along with gratuities and economy roundtrip air transportation for two. Ports of call on the 12-day voyage include Monaco, Monte Carlo; Livorno, Civitavecchia (Rome), and Naples, Italy; Dubrovnik, Croatia; and Venice and Messina, Italy.

Fifty first-prize winners will receive $50 AMEX gift cards, 100 second-prize winners will receive Carnival Magic ship models and 300 third-prize winners will receive a commemorative Carnival Magic gift set.

“Since we’re returning to Europe next spring with a brand new ship, we wanted to create a fun incentive for our travel agent partners with excellent reward opportunities for each booking made,” said Joni Rein, Carnival’s vice president of worldwide sales. “We couldn’t commit a new ship to Europe without travel agent support and this contest is designed to demonstrate our strong appreciation for our travel agent partners’ efforts.”

The 3,690-passenger Carnival Magic is set to debut in Europe May 1, 2011.  The ship will offer a variety of unique features designed for an unforgettable “Fun Ship” experience.  Carnival Magic’s many on-board innovations include the RedFrog Pub, a Caribbean-inspired watering hole featuring its own private label beer, Cucina del Capitano, an Italian family-style restaurant that brings the heritage of Carnival’s captains to the table, and SportsSquare, an expansive recreation complex featuring the first outdoor fitness area and ropes course on a cruise ship.

Following an inaugural nine-day sailing from Venice May 1-10, 2011, Carnival Magic will sail from Barcelona with a series of seven- to 12-day Mediterranean cruises operating May 10 – Oct. 16, 2011.  The ship will then sail on a 16-day trans-Atlantic crossing followed by the launch of seven-day Caribbean service from Galveston, Texas, Nov. 14, 2011, becoming the port’s largest year-round cruise ship.
