Pearl Mist Rejected

Pearl Seas Cruises has rejected the Pearl Mist being built by Irving Shipbuilding in Halifax. According to Charlie Robertson, CEO of Pearl Seas, the 210-passenger ship, which originally was intended for service starting in 2009, does not meet the requirements of regulatory bodies. Announced start-up dates have been delayed at least twice.

The involved parties are reportedly in litigation.

By press time, Irving Shipyard had not returned a call asking for their comments.

Previously regarded as a sister company to American Cruise Line (ACL), Robertson underscored that Pearl Seas was not a sister company or a subsidiary, but a totally separate entity from ACL.
