Win One of 25 Free Cruises

Expedia CruiseShipCenters’ “Win One of 25 Free Cruises” promotion has received more than 75,000 entries since the contest launched one week ago, according to Expedia.

The annual promotion will draw one free cruise for two, each day, for 25 consecutive days beginning Sept. 10, 2010. This year’s winners will experience Norwegian Cruise Lines’ Freestyle cruising during a four-day cruise to the Bahamas on a sailing date that best suits their vacation schedule.

“This contest provides an incredible opportunity for our agents to grow their business,” said Geraldine Ree, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Expedia CruiseShipCenters. “Offering someone the chance to win a free cruise is an easy way to begin the customer relationship so that when the time does come for them to book their next vacation, our agents will be top of mind,” she added.

Last year, more than 170,000 people entered this contest and while they were completing the ballot, 83 percent voluntarily subscribed to at least one of Expedia CruiseShipCenters’ destination-specific email newsletters, the company said. The typical contest player subscribed to 3.5 newsletters, which they are now receiving personalized to them, from their Cruise Consultant, each month.

The contest follows the company’s One Day Sale in June, which booked 5,000 guests on Princess Cruises departures during a single day.

The Win One of 25 Free Cruises contest can be entered online on at any of Expedia CruiseShipCenters’ 3,000 personalized agent sites or by visiting www.cruiseshipcenters.com/win. Ballots can also be submitted in person at any of the company’s 130 retail locations until October 4, 2010.
