The Atlantic Star (photo: Rui Minas Agostinho)Following an engine failure on Pacific Dream, Pullmantur has moved to reactivate the Atlantic Star to replace the Pacific Dream starting on August 29th. The Atlantic Star has been laid up in Marseille since last summer.

The Pacific Dream suffered a major engine failure on August 15th, and had two cruises cancelled. It is unclear whether she will be back in service later this fall; as some reports also suggest she may be in dry-dock until next spring.

The Atlantic Star is powered by steam turbines and was originally launched as the Fairsky for Sitmar in 1984.
