Orbit Selected as SatCom Supplier for one of the World’s Principal Navies

OrSat Ku Band SatCom SystemOrbit Technologies, a satellite communications, tracking, and airborne communications-management systems provider, announced today that it has received a $19 million order to provide satellite communications systems to one of the world’s principal navies.

Avi Cohen, Orbit’s president and CEO says, “Orbit is becoming a key player in the global marine environment, dramatically increasing its growth potential over the coming years.  We are proud to have been selected as the VSAT systems supplier for the future communications apparatus of this major navy customer.  This contract award is particularly significant, given the Navy’s two-year period of comprehensive and rigorous testing and evaluation of systems available on the market today.  This award is a vote of confidence in Orbit’s compelling  solutions, systems’ performance, technology superiority,  product reliability, customer service and a host of additional parameters.”

Cohen goes on to say, “With this award, we anticipate a substantial growth in our revenues over the next two years.   I am confident in our ability to leverage this contract to receive additional orders from customers around the globe.  I wish to emphasize that though the satellite communications marketplace is experiencing a 30% annual growth, Orbit is growing even faster, while increasing its global market share.”

This $19 million order comprises the supply of a large number of broadband satellite communications systems that includes Ku Band OrSat-G and C Band systems.  The order also includes a long term multi-year service contract.  Both the Ku and C Band system types are based on a unique technology which boasts the best footprint-to-performance ratio on the market.  This is significant as it allows for VSAT installations on tight-space platforms.

Orbit’s satellite communications systems are deployed by over 20 navies worldwide.  The systems are considered the world’s leading solutions of their kind for their technical performance and durability under the most demanding conditions.  Equally remarkable is the systems’ compatibility with international standards, including performance and regulatory compliance with the demands of the world’s largest satellite companies.  Orbit’s OrSat-G systems have set the standard with their unique design, providing industry-leading performance and significant competitive advantages in virtually every performance aspect.  Approximately 1,000 systems of this type have been sold to date with installations on board vessels, representing every market segment, primarily serving the global oil and gas industries on board drilling platforms, oil tankers, merchant ships, fishing vessels, and many others.
