Silversea Appoints Three New Sales Directors

Ultra-luxury Silversea Cruises announced today the appointment of two new regional sales directors and one new director of sales to cover key regions. John Migliori has joined to cover New York and New Jersey; Kim Guimaraes for western and northern Florida; and Melissa Araya will be responsible for Latin America.

“It gives me great pleasure to welcome John, Kim and Melissa to our sales team,” said Steve Tucker, Silversea’s vice president of field sales for North America. “The breadth of experience and successful track record possessed by each of them is going to be a tremendous asset to Silversea and our travel agent partners.”

John Migliori

John Migliori, regional sales director for New York and New Jersey, has taken over this region from Tracy McSorley, allowing her to focus entirely on national and key accounts. His background includes 18 years with Carnival Cruise Lines in a variety of roles, including overseeing field sales in northern New Jersey as a business development manager.

Kim Guimaraes

Kim Guimaraes, regional sales director for western and northern Florida, replaces Dan Papich, who recently retired. Guimaraes has spent over 24 years in the travel industry. She was a regional sales manager for a major land operator and also has travel agency management experience. Most recently, she spent 12 years with Carnival Cruise Lines leading regional sales efforts as business development director for the New Jersey and Tampa Bay areas.

Melissa Araya

Melissa Araya’s appointment fills the position of director of sales for Latin America. She brings 21 years’ experience in travel, including over 15 years at American Express. Based in New York, Mexico City and Miami, she held a variety of positions at American Express and was promoted to vice president of sales and marketing for Latin America and the Caribbean. She has also held positions at Virtuoso and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
