Seabourn Sojourn Sails a ‘Flawless’ Maiden Voyage

Seabourn Sojourn, the second of three new ultra luxury cruising yachts being built for The Yachts of Seabourn, returned to Dover on June 20 from its maiden voyage, having admirably upheld the line’s peerless reputation in its initial outing. The consensus of emotions among guests and crew was a mix of elation and pride.

At the end of the cruise, guests rated their overall impression 9.56 out of a possible 10 and added some comments. Some were simple, short and sweet:

• Fabulous ship. Outstanding service throughout. Best cruise ever. (Norman & Sharon)
• More than exceeded expectations (Craig)

They added further comments on Seabourn Sojourn:

• Sojourn is a beautiful ship. The décor is outstanding.  (Joel & Linda)
• This is a beautiful + perfectly sized ship! (Roderick & Deborah)
• Our second cruise on Seabourn and we have already booked our 3rd for next year. We are sold on the quality, service, planning, etc. Was a little apprehensive about the larger ship, but LOVE IT! (Patrick & Marla)
• Elegant + spacious, light + airy (Jeorg & Beatrix)

On the service:

• The ship is impeccable. The service exquisite. The staff are the best we’ve had in our years of sailing. (Derham & Joy)
• Loved our two weeks aboard. Ship was fabulous and staff + crew even better!  (Gary & Peggy)
• Very impressed! Especially on a maiden voyage. (Colin & Jane)

“A maiden voyage is the focus of a tremendous amount of preparation and anticipation,” admitted Seabourn’s President and CEO, Pamela C. Conover. “Everyone worked so hard to prepare every detail, and Sojourn paid it off with a flawless, perfectly orchestrated triumph. The Seabourn yardstick is to meet or exceed each guest’s expectations,” she added, “and I am very proud to say that is exactly what Sojourn and her crew did.”

In this case, those expectations were largely set by Seabourn itself; since almost three-quarters of the guests on board were repeat Seabourn cruisers. They were pretty much unanimous in their appraisals:

Best Seabourn experience after many many cruises. (Paul & Carolyn)

Seabourn Sojourn sailed round trip from Dover to the Baltic on its second voyage. Thereafter it will move to Copenhagen, to begin a summer season of 12- and 14-day cruises in the Baltic, Russia and the Norwegian Fjords. At the end of September, it will sail from Dover to Lisbon, surveying the coast of France and Spain, before crossing the Atlantic to debut in Ft. Lauderdale for its autumn Caribbean season. After a Holiday Panama Canal voyage, Sojourn begins a 111-day World Cruise from Los Angeles to Southampton on January 5, 2012.
