Pullmantur Zenith on Homeport Call in Valletta

On Monday 31st May, the Port of Valletta will host the cruise liner Zenith on its first home-porting operation in Malta.

Operated by Pullmantur Cruises, the Malta flagged Zenith has a capacity of 1,440 passengers and a crew of 670.

The ship homeports in Athens, Greece. However, as a result of the recent spate of industrial action in Athens, the line decided to divert its call to Malta. This was as a result of a joint-effort by VISET, SMS as local agents, Malta International Airport, Malta Tourism Authority and Air Malta.

“VISET’s close relationship with the line and the local stakeholders, enabled us to immediately act and offer our full assistance to Pullmantur,” said John Portelli, CEO of VISET Malta plc. “Over the past few days, we have been in continuous communication to have the terminal and the various services ready to accommodate the Zenith and its passengers.”

Pullmantur senior officials will be in Malta for this operation to ensure a successful outcome for this homeporting operation which involves handling more than 1,200 passengers.
