MSC Cruises’ Broadcasts 2010 FIFA World Cup Onboard

MSC Cruises has acquired the rights to broadcast the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ games aboard all its cruise ships for one month beginning June 11.

In an agreement recently signed with IMG Media Limited, MSC Cruises is broadcasting all of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ soccer games onboard the 11 vessels in its fleet. IMG Media Limited represents FIFA for the exploitation of the in-ship rights worldwide.

The soccer games will be broadcast in the public areas including the bars and sports bars onboard. Dedicated areas will be decorated with pennants, balloons and the teams’ colors. Guests will be able to participate in activities such as sports-related trivia challenges as well.

Special drinks representing each country will be served at the bars such as Pimm’s and Ginger Ale served in England and the Italian cocktail with Campari, Martini Rosso and club soda. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and beer will be available at the restaurants.

Also, the onboard shops galleries will stock a wide variety of themed items including the Havaianas® flip-flops, bearing the colors of the different participating countries.
