Voyages To Antiquity Announces 2010 Inaugural Season Booking Incentives

Voyages to Antiquity, the new cruise line introduced by Gerry Herrod, founder of Orient Lines, has announced a series of inaugural season booking incentives to celebrate the launch of the company’s first year of operation. The first cruise on Aegean Odyssey departs from Athens on May 4, 2010.

Voyages to Antiquity already features extraordinary value with cruise fares including shore excursions, shipboard gratuities and wine, beer and soft drinks at dinner. Cruise program fares include Free Air from select east coast gateways, with low add-ons ($99 or $199) from over 70 North American gateways.

The newly announced inaugural season booking incentives include the following.

Early booking is strongly recommended as they are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time.

· No supplement for single occupancy on virtually all sailings, except in categories A, B & E;

· $1,000 savings per stateroom on cruises: May 31, June 28, July 26 and August 9;

· $500 savings per stateroom on cruises: May 3, May 17, June 14, July 12, August 23;

Savings are based on double occupancy.

· Air taxes & surcharges now included in the cruise program fares.

“The interest and response to from both travel agents and consumers is extremely encouraging and we want to capitalize on this momentum to create aggressive booking activity, especially for the first half of the season” said Mitchell J. Schlesinger, head of sales development for Voyages to Antiquity. “The destination-orientated product is extremely popular with mature and experienced international travelers and is attracting significant interest from single travelers. With many cruise lines, singles pay twice the double rate for sole occupancy. For our inaugural season we want to capture this market and respond in the most traveler-friendly manner possible.”

Voyages to Antiquity features cruises in the Mediterranean, Aegean and Adriatic Seas, N. Africa and the Red Sea. The brochure features 9 itineraries and 16 departures where only a small ship can take guests to a myriad of fascinating destinations. The aim is to combine the very best in cultural travel with first class lecturers providing insight into the cultures and people who created the “cradle of civilizations” in the Mediterranean region.

Aboard the Aegean Odyssey, 350 guests will enjoy boutique-style cruising in a comfortable, relaxed environment. Concierge services and amenities are available in the 82 brand new staterooms and suites in categories A-G, ranging from 200-500 sq.ft. The dining experience will feature continental cuisine augmented by regional foods and wines obtained during each voyage. The relaxed atmosphere is enhanced by open seating dining in the main restaurant and wine included with dinner each evening. Alternative dining venues are the Terrace Café and Tapas on the Terrace.
