Greater Ft Lauderdale Kicks Off New ‘We Love Cruisers’ Program

Greater Fort Lauderdale’s new We Love Cruisers travel agent incentive program launched today, and the pre-and post-cruise bookings are already rolling in. Debuting along with the start of Cruise Line International Association’s annual National Cruise Vacation Month, the program has already resulted in 25 bookings in the first day.

“We are very pleased with the first-day results of this new program. It’s definitely a hot ticket with travel agents and they obviously appreciate being rewarded for their sales efforts,” said Nicki E. Grossman, president of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We’re excited that the agent community is showing such enthusiasm for the program, and we hope they keep the bookings coming!”

Travel professionals who book clients on any of the seven eligible Royal Caribbean International or Celebrity Cruise Lines ships for pre- or post-cruise stays in Greater Fort Lauderdale hotels for two or more nights will receive a $25 American Express gift card, on top of earned hotel commission. The gift cards will be awarded to agents by the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau (GFLCVB) upon completion of the booked stay.

Additionally, passengers who extend their cruise with a pre/post stay in Greater Fort Lauderdale will receive a beach starter kit containing a welcome beach towel and flip flops, along with two Cruise and Play VIP cards good for complimentary admission to one of Greater Fort Lauderdale’s many leisure activities, including water sports, shopping and sightseeing.

The We Love Cruisers travel agent incentive will be available on bookings made during the month of October 2009 for travel anytime through 2010. For more information, a list of eligible cruise ships and participation in the program, agents can visit www.sunny.org/welovecruisersform.
