Holland America Announces 2010 Grand World Voyage Contest to Agents

With its ongoing innovative programs for travel agents, Holland America Line is offering travel professionals the opportunity to win a cruise on their choice of a select segment of its 2010 Grand World Voyage aboard Holland America’s flagship, ms Amsterdam. The line’s “Gems of the World—The Ultimate Voyage” will span 114 days and depart from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Jan. 6, 2010. A 128-day roundtrip Los Angeles Holiday Grand World Voyage, departing Dec. 23, 2009, is also offered. The winning agent will have his or her choice of one complimentary cruise for either the nine-day Singapore to Hong Kong segment departing March 20, the 13-day Hong Kong to Kobe, Japan, segment departing March 29 or the 19-day Kobe, Japan, to Los Angeles segment departing April 11. In addition to one grand-prize winner, the first 100 travel agents to enter the contest will be awarded a copy of “The Art of Cruising: Fine Art and Antiques of Holland America Line” ― a 176-page hardcover book that highlights the history, art and antiques of the line’s 14 ships.

“We’re always looking for creative ways to help our travel professionals book more cruises and earn more commissions. We believe that this contest will be just as exciting as the cruise itself—especially with the opportunity to visit exotic ports such as Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; Beijing, People’s Republic of China; and Petropavlovsk Kamchatskiy, Russia, to name a few,” said Richard D. Meadows, CTC, executive vice president, marketing, sales and guest programs. “After all,” added Meadows, “our 2010 Grand World Voyage was two years in the making and promises to be a memorable and rare cruise experience.”

Contest Highlights

For each 2010 Grand World Voyage full-cruise booking that is confirmed and deposited—including bookings made prior to the announcement of the contest—a travel agent will receive two entries to win. And similarly, for each 2010 Grand World Voyage segment booking that is confirmed and deposited, an agent will receive one entry to win
