One of the most long-standing employees of Hebridean Island Cruises, David Smith, has been asked to rejoin the company as a Business Development Manager for Hebridean Princess.
David, who joined the company in 1995, was an employee for 14 years, before being made redundant in April this year when Hebridean Spirit, the company’s second ship, was sold. Now, Hebridean Princess has been bought by All Leisure group plc and some original employees have been reinstated.
Geoff Lawrence, All Leisure group plc, comments: “We welcome Hebridean Princess into the group and, indeed, David back on-board. The crew of Hebridean Princess and the long-serving office staff in Skipton will continue to provide the unique cruising experience which is cherished by her loyal following.”
“I am delighted to be back, promoting a very special ship which has been such a big part of my life.” says David Smith. “When I started working with Hebridean Island Cruises 14 years ago, we just had one ship - Hebridean Princess - and now that Hebridean Spirit has been sold, we have come full circle!”
David’s role has involved working with independent travel agents, building the close working relationships which are invaluable to the business. He has over 25 years of experience in the high-end cruise industry and is highly respected in the industry.
