AIDAluna, the newest ship of the kissing-lips fleet, will sail her maiden voyage starting March 22 to April 4, 2009. The 14-day Western Europe voyage starts in Hamburg and calls at Le Havre, via the English Channel. The next calls are Santander and La Coruña in Spain, before reaching Lisbon, which the guests of AIDAluna will experience by day and night. The maiden voyage continues to Cádiz, Tanger, Valencia and Barcelona before ending in Palma de Majorca, the site of the christening.
According to AIDA Cruises, there will be spectacular fireworks in the port of Palma de Majorca in the evening of April 4.
Guests on the maiden voyage will have the chance to be part of the christening event with gala buffet and VIPs.
A range of stars have announced their presence for the christening. The international top model Franziska Knuppe will be the godmother. The German band Pur, star violinist David Garrett, pop group Marquess and singer Loona will provide the show. Entertainer Barbara Schöneberger and TV host Pierre Geisensetter will present the festivities.
Live entertainment and walking acts await guests onboard AIDAluna. The comedian Kaya Yanar will ensure a good laugh with his unique sense of humour, AIDA said in a prepared statement.
