MSC Begins Sales of 2022 World Cruise On Poesia

MSC Cruises has announced its World Cruise 2022 itinerary, with the MSC Poesia’s guests set to visit five continents, calling at more than 43 ports.

The company announced that sales opened today exclusively for MSC Voyagers Club members, with wider sales opening on December 9.

The 117-day trip around the world will take guests to 24 countries, and will include nine overnights, MSC Cruises said in a statement.

The MSC Poesia will set sail from four embarkation ports in Europe in January 2022: Civitavecchia and Genoa in Italy, Barcelona, Spain and Marseille, France. She will call at Lisbon and Funchal, Portugal, then offer guests the chance to explore the island of Cape Verde before heading to South America.

In Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and Buenos Aires (Argentina) guest will enjoy overnight stays before sailing to Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego, Valparaiso (Chile) and Callao (Peru), where guests will get to explore Machu Picchu and the Amazon jungle.

The journey continues to Arica (Chile), Hanga Roa (Easter Island), overnight at Papeete (Tahiti), before heading to Aiutaki and Rarotonga in the Cook Islands and Bounty Bay Passage (Pitcairn Islands).

Down under the guests of the MSC Poesia will explore Auckland and Napier (New Zealand), the scenery of the Fiordland National Park and the Great Barrier Reef (Cairns, Australia), with an overnight in Sydney. The ship will tour the natural wonders of Darwin, then make her way to Lifou Island (New Caledonia), Port Vila (Vanuatu) and Alotau (Papua New Guinea).

On her return leg, the MSC Poesia will head towards Asia, visiting Lombok Island (Indonesia), Singapore and Port Klang (Malaysia). She will then call at Colombo (Sri Lanka), before overnighting in Mumbai (India). She then transits the Suez Canal on the way back to Europe and makes further calls at Salalah (Oman) and Aqaba (Jordan).

Some of the 15 shore excursions included in the cost of the cruise will take guests to the iconic Moai sculptures of Easter Island, to the ancient city of Petra in Jordan and the geothermal valley of Whakarewarewa in New Zealand.
