Russian Cruising with Mosturflot

Mosturflot VesselMosturflot Cruise Company sails 11 ships primarily on 10- and 11-night cruises between Moscow and St. Petersburg. Other notable ports include Novgorod, Perm in the north, and Astrakhan where the Volga River meets the Caspian Sea, according to the 2020 European River Cruise Market Report by Cruise Industry News.

The Moscow-based company is a subsidiary of the Moscow River Shipping Company, one of Russia’s oldest marine transporters with more than 150 years’ experience in cargo and passenger shipping. Mosturflot offers a range of land-based pre- and post-cruise services as well.

Mosturflot, along with Vodohod and Sozvezdiye, are part of the River Alliance, an industry group for Russian cruising.

The bulk of Mosurflot’s fleet are 260-passenger, 129-meter long, German-built vessels: the 1989-built Anastasia and Krasin were both renovated in 2008; the 1990-built Pushkin was renovated this year; and the 1979-built Bulgakov was last refurbished in 2013.

The 240-passenger, 125-meter long Rublev and the 206-passenger, 129-meter River Victoria were built in 1981 and completely refurbished in 2011.

The 90-meter long, Austrian-built, Yesenin started service in 1984, was refurbished in 2002, and can accommodate 100 passengers. Also built in Austria, the 110-meter long, 150-passenger ships Repin and Surikov started service in 1975. The Surikov was refurbished in 2007 and the Repin in 2012.

The 1984-built, 90-meter, Alexander Grin was totally renovated in 2012, bringing its passenger capacity down from 180 to 112.
