NCL Launches Second

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is expanding its Wave Season Freestyle Resolution Sales Event by offering 50 percent off the standard cruise booking deposit for all sailings fleet-wide*. This special offer runs for one week only from Saturday, January 10 through Saturday, January 17, 2009 and is combinable with NCL’s on-board credit promotion, which launched last month.

The 50 percent reduced deposit offer makes a cruise deposit on a three to five day sailing just $50; cruises from six to nine days can be held for $125 and guests booking cruises of ten days or more pay a $200 deposit, down from $400.

“We understand that everyone needs a break from these turbulent times and cruising offers incredible value for today’s consumer,” said Kevin Sheehan, NCL’s president and CEO. “These offers, with as little as a $50 deposit and up to $500 in on-board credit, make it the perfect time to book a Freestyle Cruising summer vacation to explore Alaska, relax in Bermuda or take the kids on a vacation of a lifetime to uncover the rich history of Europe.”

In mid-December, NCL kicked off its biggest ever Freestyle Resolution Sales Event where guests who make a reservation from now through February 1, 2009 on any NCL sailing are given up to a $500 on-board credit. The amount of the on-board credit varies depending on the length of cruise** and category of stateroom booked. For example, on sailings of six days or longer, the on-board credit ranges from $50 for an inside stateroom; $100 for an oceanview; $150 for a balcony and $500 for a suite or villa. For three to five day sailings, the on-board credit ranges from $30 for an inside stateroom up to $150 for a suite or villa.

Popular sailings for this summer include, a seven-day Sawyer Glacier sailing round-trip from Vancouver, British Columbia on Norwegian Sun with ports of call including Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway, Alaska, from $599 per person. Norwegian Spirit features a seven-day Bermuda cruise round-trip from Boston, from $599 per person; and Norwegian Gem features a seven-day Western Mediterranean sailing round-trip from Barcelona, Spain to Valletta, Malta; Naples, Rome and Florence, Italy; and Cannes, France; from $599 per person. Pride of America offers a seven-day inter-island Hawai`i cruise departing from Honolulu and visiting Hilo and Kona, Hawai`i; along with overnights in Kahului, Maui and Nawiliwili, Kaui from $999 per person.

The Freestyle Resolution Sales Event is another facet of NCL’s Partnership 2.0, a company-wide initiative to further strengthen its relationship with travel partners. During the promotion, travel partners can find more information and numerous marketing tools to help promote the Freestyle Resolution Sales Event at www.bookncl.com. Here, travel partners can download flyers and banner ads, forward customizable emails and play the Freestyle Resolution photo game for their chance to win one of five seven-day cruises for two. Travel partners registered as NCLU students will receive emails, bulletins and widget updates on the promotion.
