Falmouth Cruise Project Takes Step Forward

England’s Port of Falmouth recently completed an environmental impact assessment that confirmed the port could receive a Freedom-class ship.

Future steps to designing a cruise port in Falmouth include a full hydrodynamic model to look at the effects of pier construction on current water circulation and wave generation. This model will also predict the behavior of any sediment moved during dredging, according to the Falmouth Harbor Commissioners.

“We are confident that the outcome of this study will further reinforce the economic case for the project to proceed,” the commissioners said on the Port of Falmouth Website.
