Miami Port Cleanup in Progress

PortMiami will remain closed for marine traffic at least through 4pm Tuesday, September 12, according to a statement.

Up on conclusion of side sonar underwater inspections by NOAA the port will update the public as to the opening of navigational channels.

There are also two small ships that need to be removed from the channel, according to local officials.

The Carnival Glory, Carnival Vista and Carnival Victory are returning to Miami and will be in position to dock in PortMiami once the port opens, the cruise line said.

Due to the port closure, Carnival has further shortened itineraries on the Vista and Glory, while also cancelling the next cruise on the Victory.

The Carnival Sensation is scheduled to complete her turnaround on Wednesday, September 13.
