Carnival Elation Exits Yard Ahead of Storm

A scheduled near-month-long drydocking for the Carnival Elation is seeing a major twist as the 1998-built ship entered the Grand Bahama Shipyard and has now left in a bid to avoid damage from Hurricane Irma, according to a source familiar with the matter.

According to the source, the word came down to stop work and turn to getting the ship ready to sail to avoid the storm.

It has since left Grand Bahama under tow to a safe area.
