Russian Delegation to Attend China Cruise Shipping

A major delegation from Russia has made a commitment to attend the 12th annual China Cruise Shipping, being held in Sanya, China, November 5-7.

The delegation is from Primorsky Krai, a province in Russia’s Far East that includes Vladivostok, a major cruise port.

The delegation will be led by Russia’s export development center, and include ports, local stakeholders, tourism boards and more. According to a statement, the group is looking to further boost its maritime business portfolio and align itself with China’s growing cruise industry, with a key focus on the Russian Far East.

Chinese outbound travelers have made it a point to visit locations in Primorsky Krai, as it is the second largest market in Russia behind Moscow for the Chinese.

The number one industry event in China is put on by the China Cruise and Yacht Industry Association (CCYIA).

The event aims to promote the development of the Chinese cruise industry and brings together not only cruise line decision makers, but Chinese officials, ports, shipyards, suppliers and more.

It is also the only event with decision makers from the Chinese government on-site, in addition to attendance by Chinese cruise lines: both existing companies and potential new start-ups.

Each year CCS follows a specific theme. 2017 will usher in the One Belt, One Road Initiative, according to the CCYIA.
