Jamaica Cruise Newsletter Released

The Jamaican Tourist Board has released the first issue of its new Cruise Jamaica Newsletter.

Designed to inform the cruise industry, travel trade and the media on tourism and cruise-related destination information, the quarterly newsletter will help keep readers familiar with the many ways in which cruise passengers can enjoy their time in Jamaica either pre- or post-cruise as well as during a port call, according to a statement from the tourist board.

The first issue introduces Jamaica’s five ports: Port Antonio, Falmouth, Kingston, Montego Bay and Ocho Rios.

The newsletter also lists special events and celebration, such as the MoBay Jerk Festival in Montego Bay, Emancipation Day and Independence Day all in August, and World Tourism Day being celebrated in September.

One attraction is featured in this issue: Mystic Mountain in Ocho Rios with its 1,000-meter long rainforest bobsled run, zip line, water rides and the Jamaican athletic heritage museum.

Jamaica reported nearly 1.7 million cruise passengers in 2016 and its goal is to reach 5 million by 2020.
