AIDA 2018 Newbuild to be Named AIDAnova

AIDAnovaThe 2018 newbuild for AIDA Cruises from Meyer Werft will carry the name AIDAnova, according to a press release from the German line.

Some details were released last week, and the LNG-powered newbuild will be the first of two ships for AIDA, with similar sister ships also following for the Costa, Carnival, and P&O UK brands – all under the Carnival Corporation umbrella.

Starting next December, the ship will be based in the Canary Islands, sailing open-jaw between Gran Canaria and Tenerife, with transit calls including Madeira, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. 

Bookings open on June 1.
