Kalundborg Targets 2019 Expansion

Kalundborg port officials are looking forward to a maiden visit from the TUI Discovery in 2018.

“We have capacity to grow during the high season and shoulder seasons,” said Liselotte Rørup, cruise manager, of next year’s five call, 9,010-passenger cruise schedule.

What will help will be a new port area open in time for the 2019 cruise season, with a new 500-meter-long quay and a water depth of 15 meters, Rørup said.

“We are located in the center of Denmark, 100 km from the Copenhagen airport,” Rørup continued. “We have an excellent location for turnarounds with regards to cruises into the Baltic and up along the Norwegian Coast. All large cruise vessels with a draft exceeding 7 meters pass by Kalundborg when entering into the Baltic Sea.”
