Costa to Launch New Wine List with The Wine Bank in Pollenzo

Costa DiademaCosta Crociere has signed a deal with The Wine Bank in Pollenzo, the Italian co-op founded by Carlo Petrini. The new wine list has already been rolled out across the Costa fleet.

New wines are being chosen based on the company’s Italian heritage, with over 100 total wines.

The new wine list includes wines from 19 Italian regions and countries such as France, Portugal, Spain, New Zealand, Australia and the United States, Costa said. The wine list is divided into four categories, identifiable with the help of a small logo next to each category: guests can choose between sustainable wines, organic wines, territory wines and wines that pair well with Italian regional dishes.

Sustainable wines have been selected from wines made by wineries who adopt farming methods that have the lowest possible impact on the environment and that safeguard biodiversity, according to Costa.

The organic wines have been selected from those that do not contain synthetic chemicals and that come from grapes grown without the use of genetically modified organisms, in accordance with European guidelines.

Besides the new selection, there will, of course, be traditional Italian and international wines, Costa said, in a prepared statement.
