Ribbon Cutting at PortMiami

Smiths Detection, along with American Guard Services, debuted the first dual-view X-ray system to be used for passenger baggage, starting with an installation at PortMiami.

The HI-SCAN 6040-2is dual-view X-ray inspection system which will be used to screen the belongings of passengers embarking on Carnival Cruise Line trips departing from Terminals D & E at Port Miami, according to a statement.

The dual-view is expected to enhance passenger’s experience overall by improving throughput, thereby helping to expedite security checkpoints. The system also features automatic explosives detection capability.

Through this collaboration we are confident that they have deployed the needed solutions to help them, enhancethe safety and security of passengers, crews, ships, and ports,” said Dan Gelston, President of SDI.

Sherine Assal, President at American Guard Services, commented: “American Guard Services is committed to responding to the needs of our customers and cruise guests.
