2017 Cruise Canada New England Symposium Set for Montreal

The 2017 Cruise Canada New England Symposium will rotate to Montreal for a June event, timed with the opening of a new cruise terminal and Montreal’s own 375th anniversary celebrations.

The event is scheduled from June 13 through June 15, following the Formula 1 weekend. The Symposium, which was held in New York in 2016, brings together a select group of ports in the Canada/New England region as well as cruise line decision makers and other business stakeholders. It is the 19th annual event and around 200 attendees are expected.

The 2017 event will kick off with a cocktail party and grand opening dinner, sponsored by the Port of Montreal, taking place on June 13 at Gare Viger.

June 14 sees the core program start at the Montreal Cruise Terminal, with panels hosted at the cruise terminal touching on Canada/NE and other destinations. There is also the traditional marketplace, which can be compared to speed dating between cruise lines, media and ports.

The Symposium’s workshop format that debuted in New York in 2016 makes a comeback in Montreal, but only on the second and final day, with an itinerary planning workshop scheduled for the morning of June 15.
