World Cruises Flourish for Phoenix Reisen

In the summer the fleet sails in Northern Europe and during the rest of the year, Phoenix Reisen’s cruise ships trade the world.

The Albatros will sail from Bremerhaven this summer, the Amadea from Hamburg and Bremerhaven, the Artania from Bremerhaven and Kiel, and the Deutschland on her seasonal summer charter out of Bremerhaven (Phoenix Reisen splits the ship with Semester at Sea, which operates it during the winter).

Both the Deutschland and Artania have long cruises, going as far as Western Greenland, with the latter sailing 23 days round-trip from Germany, going as far North as Disko Bay in Greenland.

The Artania then heads west to Canada/New England, with a round-trip from Germany (44 days) also available in two open-jaw segments. That is followed by a winter world cruise sailing east 136 days from Marseilles.

The Albatros sails south to Monaco in the fall before a 66-day cruise going around Africa and ending up in Genoa, where the ship turns around and promptly sails a 100-day voyage that circumnavigates South America.

The Amadea moves down from northern Europe to Nice, with a handful of Mediterranean and Canary Island cruises in October and November. She then has her own world cruise, sailing from Nice on a 126-day itinerary that begins with a crossing to the Caribbean.

Among the world cruise legs offered is a 28-day Puerto Vallarta to Yokohama sailing in January. Passengers will board during an overnight call in Puerto Vallarta and then sail to Mazatlan followed by Cabo. Overnights are on the schedule in San Diego, San Francisco, Maui, Honolulu and Yokohama. The cruise has 14 sea days.
