Trois-Rivières Lands More First Calls

Phoenix Reisen will make another inaugural visit in 2017.

More ships are building up in Trois-Rivières, with expected first-time calls from Hapag-Lloyd and Phoenix Reisen ships in 2017, and Silversea and Crystal the following year.

The port opened a new terminal in time for the 2016 season. It was built at a cost of $630,000, with the City of Trois-Rivières contributing $382,000, the Ministère du Tourisme du Québec $168,000 and the Port of Trois-Rivières $80,000.

While the port does not turn around big ships, the terminal serves as a welcome area, with passengers able to taste local products, according to Jean Perron, tourism coordinator for the city.
