Brodosplit Lands Expedition Cruise Ship Order, Unnamed Buyer

Brodosplit, a shipyard group located in Croatia, has announced it has landed an expedition cruise ship order for the building of a cruise ship to be delivered in 2019.

The buyer was not named.

The ship will be built to Lloyd’s Polar Class 6, the first cruise ship to hold such a high ice rating. The ship will be 196 passengers with a cruising speed of 15 knots and the vessel’s dimensions are 107.6 meters long and 17.6 meters wide.

Tomislav Debeljak, CEO of the Brodosplit Shipyard, said this order was proof the yard was realizing its business plan to become competitive with highly complex vessels.

Next year, Brodosplit will deliver the Flying Clipper vessel to Star Clippers.
