NCL University Features Comedic Educational Entertainment with the 2nd City

Norwegian Cruise Line (“NCL”) travel partners can now be entertained with a series of four hilarious and educational videos created exclusively for NCL University by The Second City, the renowned Chicago-based comedy troupe, showcased on board NCL ships, which has cultivated many of the nation’s finest and best known comics.  “Second City Bermuda” is the first to debut on www.ncluniversity.com and highlights NCL’s Bermuda deployment sailing from five East Coast cities including New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Charleston; and all the activities available on the island via NCL’s shore excursions.  Additional Second City videos highlighting Freestyle 2.0, Freestyle Dining and Freestyle Entertainment will post to NCL U in the coming months.

Continuing its commitment to Partnership 2.0, NCL in June 2008 launched NCL U, the first-of-its-kind online travel partner networking and education community, where travel partners can earn Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) credits, become Freestyle Certified, get the latest information on NCL cruises, share selling tips and compare success stories via online classes, videos and blogs.

The Second City video vignettes are hosted by Mike Bradecich, one of the comedy troupe’s resident comics.  Travel partners earn extra credit points toward their Freestyle Certification when viewing and taking a short quiz on the video.  In the videos, Bradecich travels throughout the ship pointing out all of NCL’s Freestyle 2.0 enhancements, dining options, stateroom amenities and on-board activities with a lighthearted twist.

The Second City began in the 1950s in Chicago, and gained international fame when The Second City alums John Belushi, Bill Murray, Gilda Radner, Mike Myers and many more joined Saturday Night Live.  Whether guests are cruising to the Caribbean, Europe or any place in between they’ll be laughing all the way with Second City performances on board select NCL ships.
