New Wharf on Target in Eden

Eden’s wharf extension project is fully funded to the tune of $44 million AUD, and will be ready for ships in time for the 2018-2019 seasons.

The wharf will be extended some 90 meters, allowing cruise ships up to 325 meters in length to come alongside, according to Natalie Godward, manager, Cruise Eden.

Before then, increasing amounts of passengers will enjoy a short five-minute tender ride, with 14 calls expected this season and 17 next, with first-time visits from the Maasdam, Black Watch and two Oceania ships.

Helping drive the business, Eden has heavily discounted port fees for first-time calls as well as return visits. Discounts are up to 75 percent off the “rack” port rates, said Godward.

Eden is located on the Sapphire Coast, with the coastal area made up of national parks. Godward said it was a prime location for whale watching and ocean-to-plate food experiences, among other tours.
