Expansion Underway at Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean is expanding out of the Caribbean, and from April 20 September 21, RCCL ‘s Nordic Prince will sail a total of 23 seven-day cruises from New York to Bermuda.

In conjunction with the cruises, Royal Caribbean is offering special air/sea packages – a promotion that is not offered by any other cruise line in the Bermuda market, and one that is expected to “open up the Bermuda season to the entire US and Canada,” according to RCCL.

Royal Caribbean plans further expansion with the addition of two new 2,000-passenger ships, due for delivery in the first quarter of 1988 and the second quarter of 1989.

The cruise line will position the ships in the Caribbean, and is considering moving one or two of its current vessels into one of the “high-volume success markets.”
