Carnival Changes Two More Itineraries to Avoid Storm, Four Total

Carnival Cruise Lines revised itineraries for two of its ships to avoid Tropical Storm Fay on Sunday, and two more Monday afternoon, a company spokeswoman said.

The Carnival Fascination will skip a call planned for Key West on Tuesday, which would have put it directly in the storm’s path. The five-day cruise will instead spend Tuesday at sea and call at Grand Turk, canceling a call in Cozumel Wednesday.

The Carnival Triumph skipped a call at Half Moon Cay Monday, but proceeds to St. Thomas and the rest of its seven-day itinerary as planned.

Sunday night, Carnival had announced two other itinerary changes due to the storm.

The Carnival Valor will reverse the order in which it was to call in Grand Cayman, Roatan, Belize and Cozumel – starting instead with Cozumel and ending with Grand Cayman on the seven-day cruise from Miami. The Carnival Inspiration’s five-day cruise from Tampa Bay will reverse the order in which it calls in Cozumel and Grand Cayman as well, the spokeswoman said.

The storm, which could reach hurricane strength, crossed over Cuba Monday morning is expected to pass over Key West early Tuesday
