Costa Fortuna Arrives in Shanghai

Costa Cruises marked the arrival of its fourth ship to the Chinese market as the Fortuna berthed at Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal, the vessel’s year-round homeport in Shanghai.

The maiden voyage ceremony was attended by Michael Thamm, CEO of Costa Group, Buhdy Bok, President of Costa Group Asia, Michael Ungerer, Chief Operations Officer of Carnival Asia, and industry partners and friends to witness Costa Fortuna’s first sailing in China.

“The arrival of Costa Fortuna is a reward for a magnificent decade of growth in China strengthening Costa’s leading position in China and Asia cruise market. In the next decade, Costa Cruises will continue to focus on innovation and excellence to bring Chinese passengers the most creative and high-quality cruise products.” said Costa Group Asia President Buhdy Bok.

Of note, Thamm was in China for the Fortuna’s arrival and not in Hamburg, where AIDAprima arrived at her year-round homeport on Thursday.
