Celebrity Cruises has named Richard Sasso President and CEO. Sasso, who was Senior Vice President of Sales and Passenger Traffic, joined Chandris/Celebrity in 1987. He succeeds Harry Haralambopoulos, 65, who has retired after 30 years with the company and continues as a Director.
According to Sasso, Celebrity will also be relocating its New York marketing offices to its Miami headquarters during the second quarter.
Al Wallack, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Passenger Services, who is based in New York and has been with Chandris/Celebrity for ten years, will leave Celebrity by the end of June, citing personal reasons for not moving to Miami. Wallack will stay on as a consultant until June of 1997.
Sasso said he expected a new senior marketing executive would be appointed.
