Star Cruises Heads to Japan

Star Cruises has announced that it will bring the Super Star Capricorn to Japan and Taiwan this month and begin marketing efforts in these countries. Star Cruises has set up its own sales and support organizations in Japan and Taiwan.

The Super Star Capricorn will be sailing between Ishigaki and Naha in Japan and Keelung in Taiwan from March through June. The estimated per diem is $200 and passengers can join the ship in any of the ports.

While the Japanese cruise companies have sometimes been criticized for keeping their rates too high to tap the Japanese mass market, Star Cruises said it will be offering its “value-for-money cruise packages” featuring three-and four-rught cruises.

In a prepared statement, Star Cruises’ vice president of marketing and sales Aloysius Lee said, “we believe these countries in North Asia hold promising potential for the cruise industry.”
