European Cruise Capacity Up 17 Percent

Cruise capacity will be up approximately 17 percent in Europe in 2005 over 2004, with Mediterranean capacity up 21 percent year-over-year and capacity in Northern Europe up 6 percent. 

North American brands are boosting their capacity in the Mediterranean by more than 18 percent and the European-based operators by more than 21 percent. In Northern Europe, the North American brands are up 22 percent while the European capacity is up an estimated 2 percent.
