Silversea Announces Key Appointments for North American Sales Team

Silversea Cruises has announced three new sales directors for North America. Laura Christian and Margaret Daly are two new area sales directors with responsibility for partnering with the travel agent community to increase sales.

A new corporate and incentive sales director, Ramon Santos, has responsibility for supporting and building relationships with meeting and incentive travel partners. The appointments take effect immediately.

“I’m excited to introduce these three talented professionals to our sales organization,” said Kristian C. Anderson, Silversea’s senior vice president and general manager for the Americas.

“We’ve done our homework with these new additions to ‘Team Silversea,’ and their extensive knowledge and performance-driven experience in the industry is clearly evident by the high regard so many of our travel partners have expressed on their behalf. As Silversea continues to grow and we prepare to launch the new-generation, ultra-luxury Silver Muse in 2017, the collective talents of Laura, Meg and Ramon make them ideal choices for these key positions, encouraging an acceleration in the potential we share with our partners in the trade and meeting and incentive segments as we continue to expand the Silversea brand.”

Laura Christian, area sales director for northern and central California, Nevada, Utah, and Colorado, brings extensive experience working in the cruise and travel industries. Most recently she was the strategic business development manager for northern California for Azamara Club Cruises. She also has held marketing and sales management positions at Travelocity, Disney Vacation Club, and Seabourn Cruise Line.

Margaret Daly has been appointed area sales director for New York and New Jersey. She comes to Silversea from Norwegian Cruise Line, where she was senior business development manager for the past 14 years. Her 30-year career in the travel and cruise sectors includes sales management positions for such companies as Alamo Rent A Car, National Car Rental, and Rosenbluth International, a travel management company.

Ramon Santos, as corporate and incentive sales director, has responsibility for the northeast, midwest, and Pacific northwest regions of the United States, plus Canada. He launched his career at Norwegian Cruise Line in the late 1980s, and has spent the past 24 years in various management positions at Landry & Kling, the cruise events and meetings at sea specialist, where most recently he held the position of vice president of global events.
