MSC Cruises’ capacity will be down slightly in 2015 as the Italian brand is set to carry around 1.4 million passengers, based on reports available in the 2015-2016 Cruise Industry News Annual Report.
The reduction in capacity is driven by the loss of two months of cruise days on three drydocking stretch projects for the Sinfonia, Opera and Lirica, which will emerge with more capacity for future cruises.
The big push for MSC starts in 2017, when the brand will welcome four ships over a two-year time span. According to estimates, by 2020, MSC will be carrying an estimated 2.4 million passengers annually.
