Caribbean cruise traffic grew 8.9 percent during the first four months of the year over the same period last year, according to cruise passenger arrivals released by the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO). However, the statistics did not include Guadeloupe or St. Maarten among the major cruise destinations.
Cozumel saw the biggest traffic increase with nearly 1.4 million passengers this year over 1.2 million last year. In terms of percentage increase, Martinique jumped from 60,000 passengers last year to 102,000 this year, for nearly a 70 percent increase.
