Jack Anderson To Retire From Carnival Corporation & plc

Jack Anderson, longtime corporate marketing vice president for Carnival Corporation & plc (NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK), is retiring after 32 years in the cruise industry.

In addition to working the past nine years at Carnival Corporation & plc’s headquarters in Miami, Anderson spent 23 years at the company’s Holland America Line subsidiary in Seattle where he achieved the position of senior vice president of sales and marketing.  Anderson has agreed to remain as a consultant to Carnival Corporation & plc.

Commented Anderson, “I actually tried to retire in 1999 after working at Holland America but Micky Arison persuaded me to continue my career at Carnival’s corporate offices – and I’m certainly glad I did. I have enjoyed a thoroughly rewarding career – both at Carnival Corporation & plc and Holland America Line – and truly value the relationships I’ve made over the years.”

“Jack was certainly one of the marketing pioneers in this business especially when it came to Alaska.  All of us here at Carnival wish Jack the best as he enters into this next chapter of his life but we’re happy we’ll still be able to tap his expertise as a consultant,” said Micky Arison, Carnival Corporation & plc chairman and CEO.

Anderson will leave his post at the end of March.  Bill Harber, a 15-year marketing veteran, will assume Anderson’s responsibilities as director of corporate marketing.  Harber spent the last four years as director of global initiatives within Carnival Corporation & plc’s shared services division.

Prior to joining Carnival, he spent six years at the consulting firm of A.T. Kearney and also worked for several years as director of product marketing in the wireless technology arena. Harber has an MBA in marketing strategy from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.

Carnival Corporation & plc is the largest cruise vacation group in the world, with a portfolio of cruise brands in North America, Europe and Australia, comprised of Carnival Cruise Lines, Holland America Line, Princess Cruises, The Yachts of Seabourn, AIDA Cruises, Costa Cruises, Cunard Line, Ibero Cruises, Ocean Village, P&O Cruises and P&O Cruises Australia.
