SeaMaster Cruises Gets High Ratings from Franchisees

Boasting an excellent overall franchisee satisfaction rate and a near-perfect score from its franchisees for “honesty and ethics,” SeaMaster Cruises today announced it has placed sixth overall in Franchise Business Review’s rankings of midsize franchise systems. SeaMaster Cruises is a franchise solution for entrepreneurs interested in building a home-based, cruise-only travel business.

Franchise Business Review is a national franchise market research firm that performs in-depth independent surveys of franchisee satisfaction and franchise buyer experiences. In 2007, more than 325 franchise systems participated in the surveys. Results are split into three categories based on size; SeaMaster Cruises is in the midsize category, meaning systems with 50 to 200 units.

Franchise Business Review surveyed two-thirds (66%) of all SeaMaster Cruises franchise owners on five specific criteria: Training & Support, Franchise System, Franchisor Relationship, Financial Opportunity and General Satisfaction. Franchise owners were asked to rate the SeaMaster Cruises program using a five-point scale (5=excellent, 4=very good, 3=good, 2=average and 1=poor).

SeaMaster Cruises franchise owners gave their program the following scores:
·    Training & Support – 4.4
·    Franchise System – 4.3
·    Franchisor Relationship – 4.7
·    Financial Opportunity – 3.9
·    General Satisfaction – 4.4

“We were thrilled, but not surprised, that out of all the categories, we placed exceptionally high in the area of franchisor relationship,” said Mark Schiffner, general manager of SeaMaster Cruises. “Within that category, our franchisees gave us a score of 4.9 in honesty and ethics, which is the foundation on which the rest of our business is built. Our franchisees, after months, sometimes years of research, choose SeaMaster Cruises because it makes financial sense, and also because we promote and live by honest and ethical business practices,” said Schiffner.

SeaMaster Cruises is part of The Travel Franchise Group; its four travel franchise brands, including SeaMaster Cruises, generate sales of more than $5 billion annually. SeaMaster Cruises currently has 120 franchise owners, all of whom passed a rigorous qualification process to be admitted to the program. SeaMaster Cruises was launched in 2004, and it has appeared near the top of the Franchise Business Review rankings each of the past three years; it was also recently ranked among the top 15 of all new franchises by Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500.
