Asia-Pacific: Driving Yield

Rhapsody of the Seas Down UnderFollowing five years of tremendous growth, Gavin Smith, regional vice president Asia-Pacific for Royal Caribbean Cruises, said that the 2013/2014 season will be a year of stability and consolidation for Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises in Australia.

The Voyager, Radiance and Rhapsody of the Seas, as well as the Celebrity Solstice, will sail in Australia from early October to Easter, in addition to the Millennium, which comes through on her way to Asia.

“We will have the same ships and will be able to accommodate the same number of guests,” Smith said. “It will allow us to tap the metrics that drive our business,” he continued. “For the first time, we are not driving growth, but yield. We will continue to do what we have been doing, but focus on doing it better with the biggest and most innovative ships in the Southern Hemisphere.”
