The Crown Odyssey, pictured above sailing for Royal Cruise Line in 1993 is now the Balmoral for Fred. Olsen. Built in 1988 at Meyer Werft for Royal Cruise Line, she also sailed as the Norwegian Crown for NCL and the Crown Odyssey for Orient Lines. In 2008, she was lengthened by 30 meeters at Blohm + Voss, before entering service for Fred. Olsen. |

As Cruise Industry News Quarterly Magazine wrote in the winter 1991/1992 edition:
One of the most unique ships to enter the market next year is the 354-passenger Radisson Diamond. This twin-hulled, luxury vessel is being built at Rauma Yards in Finland for $125 million. According to Rauma, the location of the engines in the hulls allows for less noise and vibrations to be heard and felt.
2010: The ship is currently operating as the Asia Star, a gaming vessel. |
