SuperStar Libra Celebrates First Call to Yangon

Yangon Region Government Chief Minister H.E. In a welcoming ceremony featuring a traditional dance performance, passengers and crew were greeted by local authorities and media.

Mr. William Ng, Chief Operating Officer of Star Cruises, said, “This is a memorable day as this 7D6N special cruise departing from Penang marks Star Cruises’ first return to Yangon in 10 years since SuperStar Virgo’s first call here in 2003. This is also SuperStar Libra’s first call to this port city.”

The welcoming ceremony was graced by Mr Thet Lwin Toh, Vice Chairman, Union of Myanmar Travel Association (UMTA) and Mr Min Kyi, General Manager, Myanmar International Terminal Thilawa (MITT).

Yangon Region Government Chief Minister H.E. U Myint Swe, Speakers of People’s Parliament, Cabinet Ministers, representatives of Yangon Region Government, along with Dy Minister of Transport (retired) Senior Marine Consultant Captain Pe Than, and Ministry of Tourism (Head of Yangon Region) Dy General Manager Mr Aye Thein toured the 42,285-tonne vessel. It was followed by a memento exchange ceremony and a special brunch featuring Star Cruises’ International and Asian specialty cuisine.

Besides this special cruise, SuperStar Libra continues to offer the popular 4D3N itinerary from Penang to the idyllic Phuket and Krabi departing every Sunday. From Wednesday to Saturday, travellers can immerse in another dimension of cruise fun on SuperStar Libra’s daily 1-night high seas experience.
