Adventure of the Seas Maiden Call in St. Petersburg

Adventure of the SeasToday the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg “Marine Façade” welcomed Adventure of the Seas with her maiden call to St. Petersburg for Royal Caribbean International.

It is another mark for the new port as 142.000-ton ship is the biggest vessel to call yet.

Her Captain Ole-Johan Gronhaug mentioned the conditions of navigation to Marine Façade and harbour itself is much better compared with with old city piers he visited with smaller ships years before.

Some 2,500 passengers disembarked on organized tours, according to the port.

This summer Royal Caribbean and Celebrity will total 32 calls and 80,000 passengers when it comes to their St. Petersburg port business. 

Harbour Master Yuri Orlov, attended the Plaque Ceremony together with other Port officials confirmed next year the biggest ship mark will be beaten by Royal Princess.

St. Petersburg also confirmed it is lengthening berths six and seven to accept bigger cruise ships starting work in spring, 2014.
