St. Petersburg and Copenhagen Share Best Practices

Port execs share best practicesThe Passenger Port of St. Petersburg Marine Facade recently hosted a delegation from Copenhagen Cruise Port.

Guests caught the port at its best with perfect summer weather and all berths occupied with seven cruise ships.

They briefly talked to port management then took a short walk along the berths in Russia.

Guests were particularly interested in the impact of new express motorway on the cruise and ferry business in St.Petersburg.

Running along the port this road pierces the whole city from south to north, and will be completed by 2016.

Marine Façade President Serik Zhusupov emerged with idea of annual meeting of Baltic and North Seas Cruise Ports management to be held each fall at the end of cruise season.

He suggested it would be a good platform to summarize the season in the region and proposed the first meeting at the Marine Façade in October 2013.

Johan Rostin expressed his support for this initiative on behalf of CMP.
