Cruiseport Boston is set to host the 2013 Cruise Canada New England Symposium, happening this week, May 21-23, in Boston and taking place at the Black Falcon Cruise Terminal along with the Seaport Hotel.

The three-day event in Boston will bring together Canada New England ports and industry stakeholders, cruise lines, media and more for a number of informative panels and a Wednesday afternoon networking session.

Tuesday, May 21 will open with a cocktail reception at the Black Falcon Cruise Terminal with opening remarks from Tom Glynn, CEO of the Massachusetts Port Authority; Pat Moscaritolo, president and CEO of the Great Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau; and Rene Trepanier, chairman of the Canada and New England Cruise Alliance.

Wednesday will follow with a state of the industry panel, featuring discussion on the future of the Canada and New England region. Panelists include Stein Kruse, CEO of Holland America Line; Charles Robertson; CEO of American Cruise Line and Pearl Seas Cruises; Jim Berra, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at Carnival Cruise Lines; and Steve Riester, vice president of planning and analysis at Norwegian Cruise Line.

A second panel on Wednesday will touch on the pending 2015 Emissions Control Area, as well as the potential of shore power in Canada and New England.

A Gala Dinner at the Seaport Hotel Plaza Ballroom will conclude the day.

Thursday closes the event with a two-part panel on selling Canada and New England, followed by panels on destinations in the region and social media.
