Carnival Launches Travel Agent Booking Sweepstakes for Europe Sailings

Carnival Cruise Lines is launching a new travel agent sweepstakes designed to promote the upcoming 2013 European programs of Carnival Sunshine and Carnival Legend.

For every online booking made for a European voyage on either of these two ships, travel agents may enter their bookings into a drawing to win a grand prize seven-day Carnival cruise for two of their choice, $100 gift cards or 10,000 bonus points in the line’s Travel Agent Rewards Program.

Each online reservation counts as an entry so the more bookings travel agents make, the more opportunities they have to win. Travel agents may enter qualifying bookings in the European Sweepstakes section of GoCCL.com through March 8, 2013.

“This spring marks the beginning of our most exciting European season yet with the totally transformed Carnival Sunshine and the incredible array of itineraries on Carnival Legend,” said Joni Rein, Carnival’s vice president of worldwide sales. “There are so many key selling opportunities for our valued travel agents with these ships and we wanted to add to that excitement with a fun sweepstakes filled with great prizes, including a cruise on the Carnival ‘Fun Ship’ of their choice.”

Carnival Sunshine represents the cruise line’s most comprehensive ship transformation project ever encompassing an unprecedented $155 million renovation that will add a host of dining, bar and entertainment innovations and spectacular outdoor spaces, part of the Fun Ship 2.0 enhancement initiative. Travel agents may take a comprehensive look at the extreme makeover by viewing a new virtual tour of the ship, available on GoCCL.com. The tour features a sneak peak at the ship’s innovative spaces as well as “before and after” pictures and interviews with some of the individuals responsible for bringing the project to life.

Currently sailing as Carnival Destiny, the ship will be renamed Carnival Sunshine following a 49-day dry dock then debut with a series of nine- to 14-day Mediterranean cruises April to October 2013.

Carnival Legend will launch the line’s widest array of European itineraries ever, offering an exciting choice of options, including Carnival’s first Norwegian fjords itinerary and its first extended program from the UK, as well as cruises to the Baltic, Mediterranean and British Isles, beginning in spring 2013.

Carnival Legend’s schedule will encompass 12-day voyages to Norway/Western Europe, the British Isles and the Baltic departing from Dover (London), along with 12-day Mediterranean cruises departing from Venice, Barcelona and Dover, from April to September 2013.
